Lina Hurtig signs with Italian Champions Juventus FC Women
Hurtig will join Juventus FC Women for her first adventure abroad after nine seasons in the top league in Sweden. The Swedish Women’s National Team attacker is one of Sweden’s most talented players and has a great vision for the game, a strong physique and high quality with both feet and will be a great addition to her new club and the Italian League.
“I’m ready to take the next step in my career. Getting to do it in a big club like Juventus, with high ambitions feels really good. Thanks to CMG who made this possible!”
– Lina Hurtig
Hurtig started her career in Avesta AIK. At age of 15 she joined Gustafs GoIF in division 1 in Sweden, where she made such an impact by scoring 14 goals in 20 games, which caught the eyes of the former big club Umeå IK (i.e seven Swedish League titles and two Women’s Champions Leage Titles). She stayed at the club for five season, playing 88 games in the Swedish Top League, Damallsvenskan and scored 24 goals. Her next step was with Linköping FC in 2017 where she has been up until now. Hurtig played a big part when her team Linköping FC won the Swedish League Title in 2017 and was promoted to Women’s Champions League the following year, where they advanced all the way to the quarter-final stage.
“I’m super happy for both Lina and Juventus. Lina have had offers from some of the best clubs in the world during the last years but we could see real enthusiasm in her when we brought up the opportunity to go to Italy and Juventus. Serie A femminile is by far stronger than ever before and Juventus is one of the clubs that has a great project going with top resources put into organization and players. Lina is already a player who perform good on high international level, together with Juventus we know she can take the step to become one of the best.”

Despite this being her first international club move, she has loads of experience from playing international games. She has 15 caps with the U17, 30 caps with the U19 – including a gold medal in Euro 2012.
She went on to make her debut with the Women’s National team in November 2014, in a 1-1 draw against Canada. She has up until now played 31 caps for the Swedish Women’s National Team and was also part of the Swedish squad that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
“Lina has been a part of CMG from the beginning and therefore it’s feels fantastic for us to follow her into this new step of her career. She will come to an environment and set up that is absolutely top class and we wish her all the best for her upcoming international adventure. We would also like to thank both clubs for a good collaboration and dialogue during this transfer.”
