CMG athletes competing in the UEFA women’s Euro 2017

On July 16 competition will officially start for the UEFA women’s Euro 2017. CMG will be very active in the competition with CMG athletes representing four countries and being present in three out of four competition groups. Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland all have two or more CMG athletes competing for their squad.

Norway and CMG clients Stine Reinås and Ingvild Isaksen will kick off the competition against the Netherlands on July 16 at 18:00. Reinås, born in 1994, has participated in 5 matches for the Norwegian national team and has been a part of their youth national teams for many years. She is a defender who currently plays for Stabæk Fotball Kvinner with teammate Ingvild Isaksen. Isaksen, born in 1989, has appeared in 59 matches for the senior national team and has scored 3 goals to date. Norway is in Group A competing against Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

Denmark national team players and CMG clients Line G Johansen and Janni Arnth are set to play in Group A at 20:45 on July 16 against Belgium. Johansen, born in 1989, is a goalkeeper currently playing for Vejle BK in Denmark. Arnth is a defender who has been playing for Linköpings FC since 2014. She has made 75 appearances for the Danish senior national team.

Group B will start competition with several CMG clients representing Sweden in their match against Germany. CMG athletes Jonna Anderson, Jessica Samuelsson, Magdalena Eriksson, Mimmi Larsson, and Hanna Folkesson will kick off against Germany at 20:45 on the 17th of July.

Anderson, born in 1993, is a defender currently playing for Linköpings FC. She has appeared in 18 senior national team matches. Samuelsson, a veteran of the squad, has represented the Swedish national team in 50 matches. Samuelsson along with Linköpings FC teammate Magdalena Eriksson won a silver medal for Sweden in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Eriksson has appeared in 26 matches for the senior SWNT while teammate Mimmi Larsson has appeared in 5. Larsson, born in 1994, plays for Eskilstuna United DFF in Sweden. Hanna Folkesson, born 1988, has appeared in 34 matches for the SWNT and currently plays for FC Rosengård in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.

In Group C Iceland will be represented by CMG clients Sif Atladóttir and Anna Björk Kristjánsdóttir. They are set to face France in the first round of competition on July 18 at 20:45. Both athletes currently play in Sweden in the Damallsvenskan. Atladóttir is a defender playing for Kristianstad DFF while Kristjánsdóttir is playing for LB07.

Norwegian International Ingrid Marie Spord has signed with the Italian team Fiorentina Women's FC. Her previous clubs include Sandviken (2013–2016) and LSK Kvinner (2016–2017) in the top league in Norway. She was also a part of the Norwegian squad for the European Championship this summer in Holland. The midfielder joins the team right away and will be available for the game against Juventus on Friday.  read more

Emma Jansson is returning to her former club Hammarby IF, where she played in 2015. The swedish U23 player has gained a lot of valuable experience from both Eskilstuna United and KIF Örebro and is now looking forward to her fourth and upcoming year in the highest league in Sweden. read more
